These are images from places that are special to me, either because of the wildlife or the natural environment. In many ways, they are my ‘accidental postcards’ and follow a photographic interest that began 20 years ago. This journey began with a very basic 6-megapixel camera, shooting in auto and producing the occasional ‘okay’ result. It was the start of a journey of discovery that has grown from a part-time hobby into something of an obsession with much learning and of course more expense cameras (after cameras) to practise this obsession. And as in life, each step in this journey has reminded me of how much more I needed to learn. That continues today and I’m sure will for the remainder of my life. There has also been an evolution in the images I’ve capture. In the beginning they were mainly landscape snapshots. Today they’re more about the living natural world of birds, animals, and places of natural beauty. This section is of more recent places visited. gh
