Australian wildlife evolved in isolation and that led to a land of unique animals, like kangaroos and wallabies, the platypus, emus and various reptiles. The early european explorers and settlers were amazed by what they found. But being isolated by water for tens of thousands of years didn’t stop a lot of non-native species making the great southern land their home too. gh
