Just as Australia’s isolation resulted to a varirty of unique animals, the same is true of much of our birdlife which ranges from beautiful parrots to large raptors like the wedge-tailed eagle with its two-and-a-half-metre wing span. Birds may be easy to spot but are difficult to photograph, presenting perhaps the ultimate challenge for wildlife photographers. gh
